What should I bring to a sauna?
A towel to sit on, a second towel for drying off, a bottle of water, sliders or sandals, and warm layers for afterwards. A wool sauna hat or beanie keeps your head cooler so you can stay in comfortably. Most outdoor saunas have only basic changing areas, so check the listing before you go.
How much does a sauna session cost in Ireland?
Prices vary by location and session length. Many public seaside saunas in Ireland start from around €15 per person for a shared session, while private bookings and spa-style venues cost more. Check each sauna's website for current prices.
Do I need to book a sauna in advance?
Most saunas run timed sessions and recommend booking ahead, especially at weekends, bank holidays and sunset slots. Some take walk-ins when there's space.
How long should I stay in a sauna?
Most people do a few rounds of 10 to 15 minutes, cooling off in between with a sea dip, cold plunge or shower. Drink water, listen to your body, and get advice from your doctor first if you're pregnant or have a heart or blood pressure condition.
